Warehouse Clerk
THIS IS NOT AN OFFICE JOB. IT IS WORKING WITHIN A REGIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER ENVIRONMENT.
This position will be moving throughout the warehouse, doing cycle counts, and other duties assigned by the manager. Must be able to drive a forklift along with large amounts of computer work.
Qualifications:
One (1) to Two (2) years logistics/distribution experience preferred.
OEM distribution experience preferred.
Experience working in a unionized environment preferred.
Experience operating a Forklift (REQUIRED)
Knowledge in supply chain distribution.
Knowledge of the general warehouse industry, best practices, and techniques.
Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
Experience with labor planning and resource management.
Strong people skills and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Familiar with Warehouse Management System functionality - SAP, BMW WM preferred.
Proficient written and oral communication skills.
Comfortable presenting to group settings.
Ability to obtain all Dangerous Goods Certifications.
Language: Fluent English. Ability to speak or understand Spanish or German is a plus, however not required.
Walking or standing occasionally from 5-15% of shift.
Little lifting or carrying up to 25lbs less than 5% of shift.
Responsibilities:
The Regional Distribution Center (RDC) Warehouse Clerk will assist RDC Management in executing the strategic directions of the assigned department daily. The role involves clerical functions that support warehouse activities, including organizing and distributing work within the department, and maintaining records and files.
• Organize and distribute tasks within the department while ensuring the smooth flow of operations.
• Manage appointment schedules and operational document flow, adhering to all regulatory and safety standards.
• Support warehouse activities including picking, packing, shipping, receiving, reverse logistics, and inventory control.
• Complete special projects, which may involve forklift operation, while maintaining high performance and customer service standards.
• Release, troubleshoot, sort, and distribute orders/work assignments to operational staff.
• Monitor the completion status of daily workloads and report regularly to the Supervisor.
• Provide daily key performance reports, offering consistent and accurate data to RDC Management.
• Maintain and update the ticket system for dealer and corporate communications within the RDC.
• Assist dealer and corporate staff with order status, tracking, and emergency car-down order processing.
• Research open parts orders, maintain tracking information, and shipping manifest records, while helping hourly staff with general inquiries.
• Monitor and report on daily department and employee performance in areas such as quality, production, and process.
• Observe and audit processes, suggesting alternatives and improvements, as necessary.
• Ensure that training records are updated and regularly audited.
• Maintain required reports and collect data within the department.
• Manage inventory of necessary office and operational supplies, including forms, markers, pens, and labels.
• Ensure compliance with the Value-Added Production System (VPS) within the assigned area.
• Schedule and maintain records of inbound/outbound trucks and shipments.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required by RDC management staff.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment always.
• Complete special projects as assigned by the Supervisor.
Required Experience:
Experience assigning parts to the locations they will need to be placed in the warehouse.
MS Excel
Will be walking and climbing stairs within a Parts Warehouse consistently.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required; Associates Degree preferred.
