Qualifications:

COLLECTIONS DEPARTMENT - UTILITY WORKER II

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED

• MUST possess a valid driver’s license

• MUST possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL with Tanker endorsement

• Must be able to operate a combination cleaning truck (i.e. Vactor)

• Familiar with IT devices, such as Smartphones, tablets, and accessing emails

Preferred Qualifications

• Must obtain a Level 1 Wastewater or Collections Certification within a year of hire date

• Basic knowledge in the operation and maintenance of vehicles, equipment, farm machinery, pumps, and equipment used in and around water and wastewater systems

• Familiarity with hand and power tools and equipment commonly used in the maintenance of vehicles, structures, and buildings

• Tech savvy in filling out work orders using Maintenance Connection

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs routine serving and corrective maintenance of wastewater collection systems.

• Cleans vehicles, heavy equipment, pumps, tools, and other stationary and portable equipment.

• Preforms routine inspections of vehicles and equipment; performs minor maintenance and lubrication of machinery such as changing oil and greasing equipment.

• Operates and maintains vehicles, equipment, and tools that are required to load, unload, haul and spread sand, gravel, dirt and/or waste products (i.e., sludge, product waste, packaging waste, etc.); digs and refills ditched and trenches.

• Carries or holds materials, supplies, and tools to assist collections personnel.

• Maintains grounds, buildings, and lift stations; cuts grass, weeds and brush; trims trees and bushes; rakes grass, leaves and trash.

• Completion of work orders using technology software programs (i.e., Maintenance Connections) daily

• Operates valves and gates either manually or by remote control.

• Monitors gauges, meters, and control panels

• Able to obtain a Level 1 Wastewater or Collections Certification within a year of hire date.

• Works safely and adheres to established safety procedures.

• Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during the workday.

• Ability to carry and respond to work orders as requested by management.

• Ability and willingness to work on-call shifts, as requested, including being fit and able to respond to call-ins, in a timely manner.

• Understand and carries out oral and written directions.

• Performs other duties, as required.
