Essential Job Functions

  1. Perform basic inspection, troubleshooting, and repairs on plumbing and other systems.
  2. Work with communications equipment, including radios, workstations, tablets, testing devices, etc. to record work order information in the Hexagon enterprise asset system.
  3. Assist with layout and estimating or work required for plumbing projects, as well as plumbing system maintenance and repairs.
  4. Be familiar with domestic water, domestic water valve, hot and chilled water, boiler condensate systems, storm drainage systems; acid resistant, backflow prevention/check valve systems, and hot water recirculation systems.
  5. Work with copper, PVC, no-hub cast iron; hub, spigot, and threaded pipe.
  6. Assist tenured plumbing team members with complex plumbing tasks and projects as needed.
  7. Assist with other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Basic knowledge of the Georgia Plumbing Code.
  2. Basic knowledge of general operations, safety practices and policies, as well as specific knowledge of procedures and standards applicable to the safe practice of the testing, inspection, servicing, preventative maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems.
  3. Ability to use hand tools, power tools and equipment applicable to the testing, servicing, inspections, preventative maintenance, and repair of plumbing  systems.
  4. Basic typing, verbal and written communication skills required.
  5. Ability to work cooperatively as a member of the plumbing.


Education

  1. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.


Experience Required

  1. One year of pluming experience with two years preferred.
  2. Possess a valid driver’s license with the ability to be covered by Jacobs’s insurance carrier.





Working Conditions

Working conditions in the work area can include indoor environments, as well as outdoor environments, which could cause exposure to changing weather conditions; proper environmental attire will be required.  Some areas can have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gases, pathogens, and various chemicals.  The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact.   Work assignments may require working a compressed or extended schedule, which may apply during extreme weather event operations.

Physical Requirements

Physical requirements to perform work will include ability to sit, stand, stoop, twist, and bend at the waist, turn, kneel, squat, raise arms above shoulder height, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements and fine coordination to work on equipment, have vision sufficient to maintain equipment, have hearing in the normal range with or without correction.  In an 8-hour shift, must be able to walk long distances throughout the facility, lift objects up to 40 pounds from floor level to waist height, climb into and out of vehicles having high ground clearance; work in prone position under vehicles or equipment; wear and use appropriate safety equipment; work alternate shifts to meet client needs.


Physical requirements may include and require the use of ladders and aerial lifts in the performance of work assignments, which may also be completed in a variety of weather conditions.  Ladder and aerial lift usage must follow standard safety practices and protocols.  Only trained and certified operators may use an aerial lift.
