    About the Role

    We are seeking experienced Energy Marshals to oversee electrical safety and compliance on high-profile construction projects. This role is critical in ensuring safe energization procedures and adherence to NFPA 70E and OSHA standards. You will be the single point of responsibility for all equipment energizations in the Construction Zone (CZ), working closely with General Contractors and AWS Construction Managers to maintain a safe and compliant job site.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Serve as the primary authority for all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) activities and electrical energizations.

    • Ensure all electrical personnel meet NFPA 70E qualifications and maintain training records.

    • Assign and oversee Deputy Energy Marshals (DEMs) to monitor concurrent work.

    • Organize and lead pre-energization meetings and approve all energization steps.

    • Conduct Foreign Object and Debris (FOD) inspections before energization.

    • Restrict access to electrical equipment during energization and commissioning activities.

    • Review single-line drawings and confirm all switch positions before activation.

    • Oversee temporary protective grounding/earthing removal and final inspections.

    • Coordinate with AWS Operations for electrical-related Major Change Management (MCM) work.


    Qualifications & Requirements

    • NFPA 70E certification (Electrical Safety Related Work Practices) – Required

    • Experience in electrical construction safety, LOTO procedures, and pre-energization processes

    • Prior experience in energy safety oversight or similar roles (Energy Marshal, Electrical Superintendent, Safety Manager) preferred

    • Ability to lead and train electrical personnel in safety procedures and compliance

    • Strong understanding of OSHA electrical safety regulations

    • Experience reviewing single-line drawings, electrical schematics, and site safety plans

    • Strong communication and documentation skills


    Preferred Qualifications

    • OSHA 30 certification

    • Journeyman or Master Electrician License (preferred but not required)

    • Previous experience working with AWS, large-scale data centers, or major construction projects
