Qualifications:
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Painter.
Proficiency in spraying, brush, and roll techniques.
Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them.
Ability to complete projects in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
Ability to use appropriate tools (paint brushes, caulking guns, etc.)
Familiarity with OSHA general safety practices for the painting industry preferred
Great attention to detail
Preferred Laminate repairs experience but will train if needed.
Physical requirements: Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Valid California Driver's License
High school diploma or GED; successful completion of a Painting apprenticeship
Responsibilities:
Execute commercial painting projects, ensuring high-quality finishes.
Paint the interior mostly and occasional exterior of buildings and other facility buildings on campus.
Use brush and roller, airless, HVLP, and a variety of paint products
Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures, etc.
Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint, and applying primers etc.
Operating, maintaining and cleaning all equipment
Completion of work orders and projects in a timely manner
Utilize color theory to mix paints and achieve desired aesthetics.
Strong understanding of color theory and its application
Experience with drywall installation and repair
Pre-painting preparation including supply estimation, scraping, patching, sanding and clean up.
Performing routine maintenance around the buildings such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repairs.
Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures, Toilets and Urinals.
Maintaining the building equipment to keep the facility functioning properly
Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof
Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
Concrete and Asphalt patching
Hanging Pictures, TV’s and Posters when needed
Events; set up Tents, Chairs and Tables
Follow all health and safety precautions
Assist in other General technician duties as needed.
