Position Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Tool Maker - III to join our team. The successful candidate must have at least 6 years of experience as a tool and die maker and have experience with semi-permanent dies, layout work, and knowledge of short run stamping through progressive dies.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, design, construct, or repair a wide variety of highly intricate and complicated tools, dies, jigs, gauges, and fixtures to extremely close tolerances.

• Perform difficult development work and construct tools where no design is available.

• Select allowances and device mechanism details.

• Perform highly skilled fitting, adjusting, and timing of tools and machinery.

• Perform work involving multi-station progressive dies, intricate compound dies of irregular shape, subpress dies for parts of delicate outline, and complex index milling fixtures.

• Perform any tool room machine operation, including CAD/KEY, CNC lathe, and other technologies required for toolroom operations.

• Work from complicated drawings and sketches.

• Use advanced shop mathematics and all types of precision measuring instruments.

• Apply a high degree of experience, trade skill, and thorough knowledge of machine shop practice.

• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Possess or be willing to purchase the required inspection and hand tools upon acceptance of the job offer.

• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Toolmaker experience (7 years).

• Experience with progressive dies

 $35-42/hr

 

Education:

• CNC / Machine Tool Technology (or equivalent) degree or certificate (Preferred)

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday

• Weekend availability

• operates two shifts; 1st shift if 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, 2nd shift is 3:30 pm to midnight. Training is completed on 1st shift and individual may go to 2nd shift after training. Union employees scheduled on 2nd shift receive shift differential of $1.00 per hour. Union employees must work overtime according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Employees can work overtime during the weekdays and/or on Saturday if needed.
