Key Staffing, a leading recruitment firm, is proud to support a well-established environmental services provider in hiring a Safety Specialist for their metal recovery processing facility in Lost Hills, CA. This is an exciting direct hire opportunity to step into a hands-on safety role at a company that values innovation, safety, and sustainability.
Position Overview:
The Safety Specialist will be responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe working environment by supporting the implementation of safety programs, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and Cal/OSHA standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses (JHAs)
Facilitate new hire safety training and onboarding programs
Monitor regulatory compliance with federal and state safety standards
Participate in incident investigations and recommend corrective actions
Maintain safety documentation and records (SDS, reports, training logs)
Assist with emergency planning, drills, and first aid coordination
Promote daily safety awareness through walkthroughs and toolbox talks
Collaborate with supervisors and employees to identify safety improvements
Support ergonomic and workplace enhancements
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field (or equivalent experience)
Familiarity with OSHA/Cal-OSHA standards
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Basic Microsoft Office proficiency
Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is a plus
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, not required
Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a drug screen and physical
Schedule & Compensation:
Day Shift (Occasional night shift as needed)
Pay Rate: $28.85–$31.25/hour
