Position: Quality Control Technician
Pay Rate: $22.00 - $24.00 /hourly
Location: Tracy, CA
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 5:30am start | OT on Saturdays
Description:
The Quality Control Technician monitors, maintains, and improves quality control systems to ensure compliance with quality standards and USDA regulatory requirements. This person provides oversight and training to achieve departmental goals. The role requires someone highly motivated, detail-oriented, and professional, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication and collaboration across departments are essential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Inspect facility and equipment before production begins
Conduct ATP and Environmental swabbing on equipment to identify bacteria count
Calibrate thermometers
Conduct N60 Testing and GMP inspections
Record CCP temperature data
Complete QC Daily Checklists for all products packed
Use Alchemy System, PowerPoint, and/or written SOPs
Assist QC Supervisor in maintaining BRC Standards, facilitating third-party audits, managing the school lunch program, and supporting other projects/tasks as needed
Ensure employees are following prescribed procedures
Observe safety and security procedures; use equipment and materials properly; report unsafe conditions
Follow Job Hazard Analysis safety guidelines
Review email and voice messages, prioritize workload, and respond to questions and problems
Keep QC Supervisor informed of attendance, activities, and potential issues; propose solutions proactively
Maintain working knowledge of and adhere to company policies and procedures
Support other employees in completing their work as needed

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
1–2 years of experience in a food processing environment
Intermediate computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to perform primary job responsibilities satisfactorily
Preferred Qualifications
2–5 years of experience in a food processing environment
Previous meat processing experience
Experience with scan guns and/or TI stations
Bilingual in Spanish
Physical Demands
Regularly required to sit, stand, and move between workstations
Frequent talking, hearing, and repetitive motion tasks (keyboard, ten-key, handling materials)
Occasionally required to walk on uneven surfaces, reach, bend, squat, kneel, climb, and lift up to 25 lbs
Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
Work Environment
Office environment: temperature-controlled, usually quiet to moderate noise
Production floor: cool environment (30–50°F), noise level moderate to loud
