Experienced Forklift Operator / Load Builder

Pay: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Location: Hillsboro, OR

Overview:

GLISS is hiring for a well-established lumberyard in Hillsboro, OR. This is not an entry-level role—our client is looking for an experienced forklift operator who thrives in outdoor, fast-paced environments. If you have a background in lumberyard, construction, or material handling work, this is a stable, long-term opportunity with strong pay and benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts to move lumber and building materials safely across a busy yard.
• Load and unload trucks with construction-grade lumber and supplies.
• Stage and organize orders for delivery and distribution.
• Work outdoors on uneven ground, in mud, and in varying weather conditions.
• Maintain productivity and safety standards at all times.
• Assist with general labor tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs as needed.

Qualifications:

• Forklift experience REQUIRED (lumberyard, construction site, or similar outdoor setting).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly during the shift.
• Comfortable working outdoors in rain, mud, heat, or cold.
• Strong attention to detail and safety-minded.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team environment.
• Ability to bend, reach, and twist throughout the day.
• Experience using basic hand tools preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to operate forklifts on rough, uneven terrain.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.

Schedule Details:

• Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Full-time, long-term role
• Weekends off
