Schedule: 2nd Shift

Pay Rate: $22–$26/hr

Job Summary

The Machine Operator I is responsible for overseeing manufacturing activities within their assigned department. This individual will be expected to manage both physical tasks and administrative responsibilities, including documentation and team communication. A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to multitask, maintain professionalism, and effectively resolve production-related issues.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare machines and production lines for order fulfillment.
  • Assign tasks and communicate procedures clearly to line staff.
  • Confirm raw/pre-processed materials align with work orders.
  • Operate machinery and monitor line performance for quality and efficiency.
  • Complete all necessary QA, production, and administrative documentation.
  • Keep production records up to date and report concerns to supervisors.
  • Support and motivate production team members as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve work-related issues in real time.
  • Conduct product inspections for quality assurance.
  • Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and all safety regulations.
  • Report injuries or hazards promptly to HR and/or supervisors.
  • Respond to radio calls and resolve operational inquiries.
  • Fill various roles on the production floor, including Operator, Wrangler, Stager, and Packager.
  • Promote a respectful, inclusive, and harassment-free work environment.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of meat processing experience.
  • USDA training and HACCP certification.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English).
  • Familiarity with advanced GMPs.

Physical Requirements

  • 100% of time spent on the production floor.
  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, and operating equipment.
  • Must be able to push, pull, kneel, bend, and climb as needed.
  • Regular use of hands and repetitive motion required.
  • Vision requirements: close, distance, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Refrigerated environment: 30°F to 50°F.
  • Moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Wet and uneven surfaces may be present.
