Job Title: Sanitation/Housekeeping

Pay Rate: $16.50/hr.

Shift: 1st and 2nd

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeping/Sanitation Worker to join a pistachio processing facility in Firebaugh, CA. This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the plant to ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of processing equipment, production areas, floors, walls, and common areas.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Clean up debris, dust, product waste, and other materials from machinery and floors.
• Operate sanitation equipment such as pressure washers, floor scrubbers, and hand tools.
• Properly mix and use cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety data sheets (SDS).
• Remove trash and recyclables to designated areas.
• Communicate any safety hazards or maintenance issues to supervisors promptly.
• Support plant operations by maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Previous sanitation, housekeeping, or janitorial experience preferred—ideally in a food processing or agricultural environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding setting (standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs).
• Comfortable working around machinery, cleaning chemicals, and varying environmental conditions (heat, dust, etc.).
• Must follow safety and hygiene protocols consistently.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the Firebaugh location.

Work Environment:

• Indoor/outdoor environment in a pistachio processing facility.
• Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
• May require overtime, weekends, or extended hours during peak season.
