Job Title: Material Handling Technician

Pay Rate: $24/hr.

Shift: 8:30am - 5:00pm

Benefits: Medical, Dental, AD&D


JOB OVERVIEW 

The primary responsibility of the Material Handling Technician is to move production related materials and products between buildings in a timely, safe, and efficient manner. 

 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Moves materials, supplies, and finished goods from and to specified areas/departments based on Work Order requirements or product disposition.  This will entail transportation of materials between buildings using carts, forklifts, golf carts/trailers, vans and flatbed or box trucks. 
  • Enter transactions in the ERP system accurately and in a timely manner. This includes reporting inventory discrepancies in a timely manner while following corporate guidelines. 
  • Communicates effectively ensuring timely completion of tasks.  Utilizes Teams and radio daily. 
  • Performs cycle counts of inventory as needed.  
  • Maintains minimum and maximum stock levels of commonly used supplies as needed. 
  • Cleans equipment and maintains supplies. 
  • Maintains a clean and organized workstation by following standard 6S practices. 
  • Works together with supervisor, leads, and team members daily to meet product deadlines. 
  • Builds positive working relationships with department managers, supervisors, and leads to ensure proper material handling and transfer procedures. 
  • Ensure all means of communication with regards to Operations are acted upon in a timely fashion. 
  • Maintain clean driving record. 


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. 
  • 1-3 years related work experience; prior Teknova experience preferred. 
  • Driver’s license required.  
  • Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good time-management, problem prevention, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Ability to work creatively and effectively in a team environment. 
  • Ability to stand on feet for up to 8 hours daily. 
  • Must be able to lift / push / pull up to 40 pounds.
