Job Summary:
This role is responsible for supporting and enhancing safety and environmental programs across manufacturing and construction sites. The EHS Specialist will ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations, lead audits and risk assessments, and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization. The ideal candidate is bilingual (English/Spanish), highly organized, and passionate about creating safe, compliant, and sustainable work environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs across both manufacturing and construction environments.
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards.
- Conduct routine safety audits, risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and employee training sessions to foster a culture of safety.
- Oversee environmental compliance activities including hazardous waste management, air permitting, and stormwater programs.
- Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety procedures including PPE protocols, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and fall protection.
- Maintain and update the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) library, and lead thorough investigations of safety incidents and near-misses, ensuring follow-up actions are completed.
- Provide EHS support and guidance for both domestic and international construction projects, ensuring consistent standards and best practices across all sites.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field — or 3–5 years of hands-on EHS experience in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations and standards.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform tasks in physically demanding environments.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to drive safety initiatives across diverse teams.
