Title: CNC Lathe Operator Level I

Pay Rate: $20.00

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 1st shift (must be open Saturdays)

Job Summary: A Level I CNC Lathe Operator is responsible for setting up and operating Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines to perform threading and turning operations safely and efficiently. This role involves handling shorter parts and accessories, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and maintaining machine cleanliness.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform pre-job checklists to ensure CNC Lathe is operational and safe.
  2. Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  3. Safely set up and operate CNC Lathe and handling systems.
  4. Execute threading and turning operations per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
  5. Work independently with minimal supervision.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including machine care.
  7. Set up CNC machines to meet customer specifications, generating first article parts for quality inspection.
  8. Install inserts and tooling necessary for turning and threading operations.
  9. Measure product dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and Mechanical Ring and Plug (MRP) gauges.
  10. Utilize ring and plug gauges to verify connections.
  11. Follow written and verbal instructions to meet threading and turning requirements.
  12. Ensure all product specifications on work orders are met and verified.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in CNC machining.
  • Proficiency in using measuring tools and gauges.
  • Ability to interpret work orders and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety protocols.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand and operate machinery for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
