Overview:

Pearland, TX 77047: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Mechanic’s Helper for a full-time position supporting industrial services operations in Pearland, TX. This is a training role, ideal for individuals who are mechanically inclined and eager to work hands-on with rotating equipment and shop tools. You will assist with disassembly, blasting, cleaning, basic welding, painting, and logistical support in a dynamic industrial shop environment.

Essential Duties:

• Assist in the disassembly and basic mechanical work on turbomachinery components

• Maintain a clean and organized work area and participate in general shop cleanup

• Perform bead and hard blasting of parts (training provided)

• Steam clean and solvent clean components

• Tap and clean threaded holes; hone mating faces

• Apply industrial coatings (Belzona, paint) with proper training

• Prep balance machines, lathes, and mills for painting

• Perform light fabrication and welding on fixtures and skids

• Tack weld balance weights for balance technicians

• Assist machinists and mechanics with setups and material movement

• Operate forklift and other material handling equipment (training provided)

• Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and shop regulations

• Perform other duties as required by supervisors

Requirements/Skills:

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a shop, industrial, or mechanical setting preferred

• Mechanical aptitude required

• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed

• Willingness to work in physically demanding environments (lifting, bending, standing)

• Basic oral and written communication skills

• Basic math and computer skills

• Ability to operate or learn to operate small lifts, pallet jacks, and torches

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work

• Authorized to work in the U.S.

• Able to read, write, and speak English proficiently

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check (clear of felonies)

• Must be able to participate in random drug testing if required by company or customer policies

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Must be able to stand, walk, climb, reach, kneel, crawl, and balance for extended periods

• Frequent use of hands for tool usage and part handling

• Must not have allergies or sensitivities to common metals (steel, copper, aluminum, bronze)

• Able to work in an environment with moderate noise and machining operations
