Overview:
(City, State): Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Rotor Balancing Technician to perform a variety of mechanical operations and tasks on turbomachinery components and assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications and quality requirements. Training opportunities are available for mechanically inclined candidates with the right background.
Essential Duties:
• Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Assemble components in accordance with procedures, drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
• Perform precision balancing on components and rotating assemblies to specified requirements.
• Use calipers, gauges, micrometers, and other precision tools to measure components and assemblies.
• Assemble configurations of components per assembly prints using proper tooling, gauging, and equipment.
• Generate inspection reports and assist in documenting quality issues and resolutions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Read and interpret assembly and manufacturing prints.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements/Skills:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an industrial or machine shop environment preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience with component assembly and dynamic balancing preferred.
• Safety-conscious with ability to follow procedures and promote safe work practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to operate small lifts, pallet jacks, and other lifting equipment (training provided).
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment requiring lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail, patience, and willingness to learn.
• Basic computer and math skills.
• Basic oral and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. regularly.
• Ability to walk, climb, kneel, crawl, reach, and balance.
• Must be able to use hands for assembly, measurement, and tool usage.
• Must not have allergies or sensitivities to handling metals such as aluminum, copper, bronze, or steel.
Work Environment:
• Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
• Work area is generally clean and safe but includes machining operations with moderate noise and metal particles.
