Painter/Blaster
Overview:
Port Vincent, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is hiring an Industrial Painter/Blaster for a contract-to-hire opportunity with our client in Pasadena, TX. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in industrial painting, including surface preparation, spray application, and finishing of steel and aluminum components. Essential Duties:

Prepare surfaces in accordance with SSPC specifications and detailed work instructions.

Mix coating materials according to manufacturer specifications.

Apply protective coatings using compressed-air spray guns to meet MDFT requirements.

Cure painted surfaces using appropriate ovens or dryers.

Inspect painted surfaces, perform touch-ups as needed, and ensure finished quality.

Operate overhead cranes (up to 50 tons) and powered industrial trucks.

Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or material defects.

Perform abrasive blasting with various media (e.g., steel shot, grit, glass bead) depending on metal type and project specifications.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, including painting and blasting equipment.

Meet production goals for quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery.

Adhere to all safety protocols and HSE standards.

Work both independently and as part of a team to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

Comply with ISO-9001:2015 Quality Management System requirements.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Painting Supervisor.
Requirements/Skills:
-
2+ years of experience in surface prep and finishing of steel/aluminum components
-
5+ years of industrial painting experience in a manufacturing or fabrication setting
