Welder
Houston, TX: Flexblue Staffing (FTS) is in search of several Welders to join our team based in Houston, TX. Essential Duties:

Determine required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.

Set up and adjust welding machines and work-piece manipulators.

Tack or weld components and assemblies using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment.

Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions in accordance with company workplace instructions or approved welding procedures including SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and SAW.

Heat, form, and dress metal components using hand tools, oxy-acetylene torch, or arc welding equipment.

Remove rough spots and welding slag from work piece using portable grinder, hand file, or chipping hammer.

Inspect materials, components, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.

Certified to operate overhead cranes up to 50 Tons.

Inspect grooves, angles, or gap allowances using micrometer, caliper, and other precision measuring instruments.

Observe tests on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications.

Troubleshoot and repair defects and failures and implement corrective actions.

Weld mig, tig, aluminum, and heliarc substance.

Read and analyze blueprints and drawings.

Complete required documentation on welding procedures to include data entry to track history.

Ensure performance goals are met for scrap/rework, labor efficiencies, and on time deliveries.

Ensure quality control in accordance with the company ISO-9001:2015 Quality Assurance System (QAS).

Maintain a safe work environment in accordance with company HSE standards and procedures.

Interact and support a broad spectrum of personnel internal and external to the company. Work effectively and efficiently in both team-based and independent working environments to reduce costs and add value to the organization.

Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Fabrication Manager.
Requirements/Skills:
-
Welding Technology Certificate or equivalent education, training, or experience;
-
Two (2) years’ experience in the fabrication and welding of heavy steel and aluminum products to include SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW.
Preffered:
-
Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Welding Technology or equivalent education, training, or experience;

AWS Certified Welder (CWS); and
-
Four (4)’ years’ experience in the fabrication and welding of heavy steel and aluminum products to include SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW.
