(Theodore, AL): Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an Accounting Specialist.


Essential Duties:
• Perform complex clerical, bookkeeping, and accounting assignments.
• Prepare financial reports and various accounting statements.
• Post journal entries to the general ledger.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of bookkeeping practices and procedures; assist with training others as needed.
• Proof accounting reports for clerical accuracy.
• Allocate expenditures to correct accounts according to departmental procedures.
• Prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
• Draft correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections; identify delinquent accounts and contact accountholders to request payment.
• Research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts in collaboration with the Collections Manager and other staff.
• Collaborate with the Collections Manager to reconcile accounts receivable on a monthly basis.
• Reconcile revenue accounts monthly.
• Copy, file, and retrieve accounts receivable documentation as needed.
• Relay changes of information to appropriate employees.
• Receive and verify expense reports; reconcile expense and financial reports with account balances and office records.
• Facilitate vendor payments, including verification of federal ID numbers, review of purchase orders, and resolution of discrepancies.
• Ensure outstanding obligations are credited upon payment; identify discount opportunities and issue stop-payment orders as needed.
• Assist with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
 • Calculate and prepare sales and use tax returns based on paid invoices.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Experience with MS Dynamics preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; business or accounting degree preferred.
 • Minimum of two years of related experience required.


Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
 • Must be able to lift up to 10–15 pounds at times.
