Overview:

Port Arthur/Beaumont, TX: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an Industrial Hygiene Associate to join our growing team. Industrial Hygiene involves the study and analysis of physical and chemical hazards in the workplace, with the goal of identifying, testing, and eliminating potential risks to employee health and safety

Essential Duties:

• Conduct sampling for respirable crystalline silica, personnel air samples.

• Collect and analyze volatile organic compounds (VOC) personnel air samples.

• Perform noise dose personnel sampling, including downloading results and formatting equipment printouts.

• Collect asbestos personnel air samples.

• Measure hydrogen sulfide air samples using datalogging equipment, including data download and report formatting.

• Conduct community monitoring or emergency response monitoring.

• Maintain and inventory industrial hygiene equipment.

• Perform respiratory fit testing (qualitative and quantitative).

• Conduct industrial hygiene field audits.

• Communicate monitoring results and notifications to employees.

Requirements/Skills:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in environmental health, industrial hygiene, occupational safety, chemistry, toxicology, or related discipline.

• 1–3 years of experience in an industrial facility preferred.

• Knowledge of relevant regulatory interpretations and professional experience in industrial hygiene, ergonomics, ventilation, radiation safety, occupational health, and behavioral safety concepts.

• Strong technical background with excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report preparation and presentations.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

• Ability to work well in a team environment.

• Willingness to work in industrial settings for extended hours.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods.

• Capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of equipment.

• Tolerance for varied environmental conditions, including heat, noise, and potential exposure to industrial hazards while using proper PPE.
