Overview:
Lafayette, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Representative to support the growth of our telecommunications and broadband construction services. This role focuses on cultivating strong industry relationships, building sales pipelines, and identifying project opportunities within the telecom infrastructure sector.
Essential Duties:
• Proactively source and develop new business opportunities with telecommunications providers, municipalities, utilities, and broadband network operators through targeted outreach, trade associations, and industry referrals.
• Develop a strong understanding of broadband construction services, including fiber installation, underground utilities, aerial construction, and project timelines.
• Book 12–15 qualified meetings per month with decision-makers in the telecom and broadband sectors.
• Build and maintain outreach lists for key telecom accounts, rural broadband initiatives, and infrastructure expansion projects.
• Manage all sales activity, customer interactions, and pipeline status with timely, accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Regional Operations Managers, and the Chief Operations Officer to align quotes, scope details, and project feasibility with customer needs.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, walk-throughs, and project site visits to understand job requirements and strengthen customer relationships.
• Own the full sales cycle from discovery to close for assigned opportunities.
• Achieve ramp-up sales goals as assigned.
• Represent Flexicrew Technical Services at broadband industry events, construction expos, and trade shows to grow market presence and stay informed on industry trends.
Requirements/Skills:
• 2–4 years of business-to-business (B2B) sales experience, preferably in telecommunications, utilities, or construction-related industries.
• Demonstrated ability to lead the sales process from prospecting to close with confidence in discussing technical services and construction scopes.
• Proficiency with CRM platforms and basic spreadsheet management for sales tracking and forecasting.
• Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
• Preferred: Familiarity with fiber construction, broadband deployment, utilities infrastructure, or engineering-related sales.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to work for extended periods while seated at a desk, using a computer, and speaking on the phone.
• Must be able to travel frequently to attend industry events, customer meetings, pre-bid site visits, and project locations across assigned territories.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally (e.g., marketing materials, event setup supplies).
• Ability to navigate indoor and outdoor event spaces, customer facilities, and light construction environments with appropriate PPE when required.
