(Pensacola, FL): Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a 1st Class Electrician to support marine and offshore platform operations in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. This is a full-time opportunity for a highly skilled individual who is capable of working with minimal supervision, while also contributing to the development and success of the team.
Essential Duties:
• Lead by example and adhere strictly to all site safety procedures and regulations.
• Perform installation, repair, maintenance, and commissioning of electrical systems on marine vessels and offshore platforms.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems using technical manuals, schematics, and hands-on inspection.
• Execute high-quality wire terminations, cable markings, tray alignments, and protection of insulation jackets.
• Conduct operational testing including load bank testing, breaker testing, and generator checks.
• Interpret and work from detailed electrical and mechanical drawings and job specifications.
• Train and mentor junior electrical staff as directed by supervisors.
• Monitor and maintain control of electrical department equipment and tools.
• Ensure compliance with project timelines, quality standards, and productivity goals.
• Maintain clean and organized workspaces and ensure tools are safely stowed.
• Provide feedback to supervisors and assist in planning production improvements.
• Follow company policies, including those related to attendance, conduct, and anti-harassment.
• Be available to work overtime and respond to the demands of project deadlines.
Requirements/Skills:
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a 2nd Class Electrician or 3 years in a comparable role.
• Strong working knowledge of marine and offshore electrical systems.
• Skilled in LOTO procedures and safety compliance.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and lead small teams if needed.
• Proficient in interpreting electrical diagrams, drawings, and job specifications.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and professional conduct with supervisors and peers.
• Demonstrated punctuality and strong work ethic.
• Must possess a full set of personal tools required to complete electrical tasks.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crawl, stoop, and climb for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull 50 lbs occasionally and 20 lbs frequently.
• Capable of working at heights above 12’ using ladders, scaffolding, or man lifts.
• Must have full range of motion and ability to work at various physical levels (waist, eye, overhead).
• Ability to work in outdoor conditions, extreme heat, confined spaces, and noisy environments.
• Regular exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, and airborne particles; proper PPE must be worn.
