Overview:
Metairie, Louisiana: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a skilled and experienced Estimator to support our mechanical service division. This full-time, on-site role involves delivering fast, accurate estimates for commercial HVAC and plumbing service work, including repairs, retrofits, deficiencies, and system change-outs. The successful candidate will have strong field experience, a solid understanding of mechanical systems, and the ability to collaborate effectively with service technicians, project managers, and office personnel.
Essential Duties:
• Prepare quotes for HVAC and plumbing service work including repairs, retrofits, and deficiencies identified in the field.
• Collaborate with technicians, project managers, and dispatch to define project scopes and timelines.
• Conduct on-site assessments to determine project needs and constraints.
• Source accurate material pricing through vendor portals and supply house inquiries.
• Apply labor estimating standards and field knowledge to ensure realistic job costing.
• Use standardized Excel templates to create and submit polished estimates.
• Assist the Service Operations Manager with larger plan and spec bids as needed.
Requirements/Skills:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial HVAC and/or plumbing, including time in the field as a technician, foreman, or service manager.
• Strong ability to scope, estimate, and price mechanical service work accurately.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical system components, materials, and labor rates.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
• Comfortable navigating vendor portals and sourcing pricing information.
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to perform job site visits within the Greater New Orleans area.
• Preferred: Experience with ComputerEase or QuoteSoft and familiarity with service platforms like ServiceTrade.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to conduct physical site visits as needed.
• Must be able to work in mechanical and construction environments.
