Welding Engineer
Overview
Kenner, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services is seeking a Welding Engineer to employ their extensive knowledge of engineering, metallurgy, materials, welding, and standards to design, examine, and evaluate welds. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, welding machinery, and related tools.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Design welded parts, assemblies, and structures
Develop standards, materials, weld joint designs, and welding processes
Create welding process procedures, supplier qualifications, and testing plans
Develop and deliver training on welding methods, procedures, and blueprint reading
Specify and recommend welding equipment and remain current with advancements in the field
Coordinate trials and evaluations of new welding wire formulations
Investigate methods to improve welder performance and productivity
Troubleshoot welding issues and implement corrective and preventive actions
Education & Training
Bachelor of Science in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology, or Metallurgy
Certified Welding Engineer (CWEng) certification preferred
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Highly organized and detail-oriented
Self-directed and motivated
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication, technical writing, and computer proficiency
Proficient in blueprint and drawing analysis and design
