Fitter

 Overview:
St. Bernard Parish, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a skilled Fitter to assemble, configure, install, and fit various fabricated steel products in accordance with blueprints and detailed drawings.

Essential Duties:
• Plan work order procedures and gather required tools and materials based on job specifications
• Consult blueprints, work orders, and schematics to create work procedures
• Use welding, cutting, bending, threading, soldering, and fitting techniques to complete projects
• Repair and fabricate items using cutting, burning, and welding equipment
• Monitor welding, burning, and fitting processes to prevent damage or defects
• Prepare, assemble, and tack weld parts and surfaces
• Maintain, organize, and clean equipment and work areas
• Notify supervisor of faulty equipment or defective materials
 • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements/Skills:
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints (Required)
• Skilled in the use of blowtorches, saws, grinders, welding torches, and other tools
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
 • Completion of a formal apprenticeship OR successful completion of a three-year in-company training program

Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of standing and stretching during installation and repair
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
 • Visual acuity required for inspection and reading blueprints
