Solidworks Designer

 Overview:

Walker, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Senior SolidWorks Designer to support the development and improvement of mechanical components and systems through detailed 3D CAD modeling and engineering documentation.

Essential Duties:
• Design complex mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using SolidWorks.
• Develop and maintain detailed 3D models, drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
• Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality departments to ensure design feasibility and compliance.
• Create and revise engineering documentation per industry standards.
• Participate in design reviews and recommend improvements to enhance product quality and manufacturability.
• Assist in prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical systems.
 • Support project timelines and contribute to cost-effective design solutions.

Requirements/Skills:
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design using SolidWorks.
• Strong proficiency in 3D modeling, drafting, and documentation within SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and engineering drawing standards.
• Experience with PDM systems and BOM management.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
 • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Capable of working in a standard office and light industrial environment.
 • May require occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
