Maintenance Mechanic

New Orleans, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting heavy machinery and electrical systems. The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, and brings solid experience in industrial maintenance and electrical work.

Essential Duties:

  • Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on heavy industrial equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and blueprints.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures.
  • Ensure equipment and systems are operating safely, efficiently, and within specifications.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Work with minimal supervision and respond promptly to equipment failures.
  • Support production and operations teams by minimizing equipment downtime.

Requirements/Skills: 

  • 3+ years of maintenance experience, specifically with heavy machinery and electrical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems (480V, 3-phase power, motor controls, etc.).
  • Skilled in mechanical repairs, welding, fabrication, and general facility maintenance.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a solid work ethic.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Physically capable of lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in industrial environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a solid work ethic.

Education:

High school diploma or GED; technical certification or trade school preferred.
