Legal Assistant
Overview:
New Orleans, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Secretary for a position in New Orleans. The ideal candidate will have a solid work history, strong work ethic, professional demeanor, and the ability to work well under pressure. A minimum of three years’ experience working in a law office is required. A background in real estate or tax law is helpful but not required. This is an on-site position, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Essential Duties:
• Prepare pleadings
• File court documents electronically and track deadlines
• Organize and maintain both electronic and paper files
• Manage calendars
• Process check requests and expense reports
• Utilize Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) proficiently
• Work with electronic document management systems
• Apply knowledge of legal terminology and standard legal procedures
• Perform other administrative duties as needed
Requirements/Skills:
• Minimum of three years’ experience working in a law office
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
• Familiarity with electronic document management systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Professional demeanor and strong work ethic
• Background in real estate or tax law (preferred but not required)
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods
• Ability to move about the office to access files and equipment
• Ability to lift or move files and office supplies up to 15 pounds
