Drafter

Overview

Kenner, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Drafter/Designer to join our team. This role is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and schematics that guide construction and manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience using CAD software and a strong understanding of engineering and architectural principles to transform design concepts into precise and actionable plans.

Essential Duties

• Develop accurate technical drawings and blueprints using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to incorporate design specifications.
• Revise and modify drawings based on feedback from stakeholders and project needs.
• Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Calculate dimensions, materials, and other specifications to support manufacturing and construction.
• Maintain organized records of drawings, updates, and revisions.
• Conduct site visits to gather necessary data for design accuracy.
• Assist in project planning by preparing timelines and documentation.
• Provide guidance and support to junior drafters and interns as needed.

Requirements/Skills

• Minimum of five years of experience in a drafting or design role.
• Associate degree, technical certification, or bachelor's degree in drafting, engineering, architecture, or a related field.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or other relevant tools.
• Knowledge of 3D modeling and rendering techniques.
• Familiarity with building codes, industry regulations, and construction safety standards.
• Strong technical and mathematical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
• Occasional site visits may require standing, walking, or climbing.
• Ability to lift and carry lightweight materials or equipment as needed.
