Manufacturing Engineer I

Overview:
Harahan, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer 1.

Essential Duties:
• Coordinate with Design Engineering to establish the best Methods of Manufacture (MOM) for engineering projects.
• Implement finalized designs into the manufacturing process including Bill of Material (BOM) and MOM entry into ERP system, creating cut lists, nesting, and other fabrication documents for production use.
• Select vendors for processed materials and evaluate their capabilities and capacities.
• Provide high-level support to QA/QC on projects, including confirming and recording fabrication documentation or testing results.
• Support and participate in the organization's continual improvement program to conform to ISO 9001 standards.
• Participate in project planning, execution, testing, and post-completion reporting.
• Select procedures and materials best suited for each job to ensure work is performed safely.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements/Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related engineering discipline,
or an Associate degree in a related field with 6+ years’ experience in steel or machining manufacturing environment.
• Experience working in an industrial shop/manufacturing environment is required.
• Six (6) or more years of steel fabrication experience preferred.
• Experience with military projects preferred.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and SolidWorks software preferred.
• Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment is a plus.
• Knowledge of all safety practices associated with welding, cutting, and mechanical work.
• Ability to read and understand work orders, sketches, schematics, and drawings.
• Computer competency with standard office software and email required.

Physical Requirements:
• Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and adjust focus.
• Regular exposure to a production environment.
• Must comply with any safety or PPE requirements required by Flexicrew Technical Services or clients.
• Must be able to pass the required drug test.
