Welder/Fitter
New Orleans, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a skilled Welder/Fitter to join our team. This role is responsible for accurately performing welding and fitting tasks using blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions. The ideal candidate will be comfortable selecting appropriate welding methods and materials to ensure safe, high-quality results.
Essential Duties:
Weld and fabricate components based on detailed drawings and specifications.
Operate MIG welders, oxygen-acetylene torches, and other related equipment.
Perform equipment repairs and light facility maintenance as needed.
Machine components using precision tools within specified tolerances.
Handle materials using forklifts and pallet jacks.
Assist in maintaining ISO 9001 quality standards.
Participate in continual improvement initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements/Skills:
Proficient with welding safety practices and mechanical tools.
Able to interpret technical documents including schematics, work orders, and blueprints.
Skilled in welding, fitting, and equipment fabrication/repair.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours/day).
Lifting Requirements: Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs regularly, occasionally heavier with assistance.
Visual Acuity: Good vision (corrected
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Welder certification and valid forklift operator card required.
2–4 years of welding experience, preferably in an ISO 9001 environment.
