CNC Programmer

Overview: (La Porte, TX): Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a CNC Programmer in La Porte, TX. This position creates the programs that instruct computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines to produce parts. These machines cut raw materials into functional items based on the programming. Essential Duties: • Primary function is to produce a cad model from data obtained from the reverse engineering of the part. From the model generate a CNC program for machining the part in the CNC. • Machine setup and operate CNC machining centers or setup and operate CNC lathes. • Secondary functions including but not limited to operating manual lathes, VTL’’s and mills. • Additional functions is to set-up and operate CNC milling centers • Provide feedback to CNC programmer for optimization of machining process. • Complete all documentation pertaining to the work assignment. • Train new hires or engineers associated with the project being worked on. • Proficient in use of hand measuring tools for dimensional inspections. • Communicate with the other operators in order to maintain continuity between shifts. • Inspect machine and adjust setup as needed. • Help maintain equipment, this includes the following: Check / Add oil, Clean machine after each shift, place tooling in correct location and organize Requirements/Skills: • Must have 5-axis CNC operating and setup experience • Broad understanding of preparatory and misc. functions (G&M codes). • Be able to interpret manufacturing drawings with GD&T tolerancing. • Mastercam CNC Programming experience • Must have experience working with rotating equipment. • Must be able to use precision measuring instruments. • Must have own tools or ability to acquire. • Must be able to work overtime, when necessary. • Communicate clearly, both written and oral.
