Senior Field Service Technician
Overview:
Greeley, CO: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician to perform advanced maintenance and troubleshooting of gas compression packages. This role includes mentoring junior technicians, leading complex rebuilds and overhauls, and ensuring efficient and high-quality service delivery in alignment with industry standards.
Essential Duties:
• Represent Flexicrew Technical Services professionally, delivering top-tier customer service
• Submit accurate and timely field service reports, expense reports, timesheets, and other required documentation
• Coordinate and direct job activities in alignment with project goals and objectives
• Lead, train, and mentor junior and new Field Technicians
• Independently diagnose and repair engine/compressor failures
• Provide resource input for optimal job planning
• Complete and lead rebuilds and overhauls of compressors, engines, and controls under challenging field conditions
• Troubleshoot advanced electrical systems and unit control panels such as Murphy, Altronic, and Allen Bradley
• Perform advanced engine tuning for performance and emissions across major OEMs (CAT/Waukesha)
• Handle recurring issues and emergency repairs independently
• Lead installations, commissioning, and start-up inspections of new units without supervision
• Conduct mechanical inspections using precision tools (micrometers, pressure gauges, diagnostic equipment, etc.)
• Participate in on-call rotations and handle emergency repairs as required
• Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and regulations
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements/Skills:
• High school diploma or GED with advanced vocational/technical training
• Minimum 10 years of relevant field experience
• OEM certifications required:
– CAT Gas I & II, CAT Electrical
– Ariel Basic & Mechanical
– CAT 3500 ADEM III, CAT 3500 ULB
– CAT 3600 ADEM III, CAT 3600 Master Mechanic
– CAT Failure Analysis
– Waukesha VHP, Waukesha 9390
• Must remain current with all OEM model-specific training
Physical Requirements:
• Regular use of hands and arms, ability to talk/hear, and frequent walking, standing, climbing, kneeling, crouching
• Must regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs using proper techniques
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts and adverse outdoor conditions
• Occasional exposure to heights, fumes, and airborne particles
• Work environment is typically loud
