Civil Structural Engineer
Metairie, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Civil Structural Engineer to join our team. As a Civil Structural Engineer, you will be involved in the planning, design, and construction oversight of various civil engineering projects. We are looking for an individual with a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
Essential Duties:
• Plan, design, and oversee the construction of civil engineering projects such as roads, bridges, utilities, and wastewater systems.
• Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies to assess project requirements and constraints.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for project proposals and construction documents.
• Utilize engineering software tools for design and analysis, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project objectives are met.
• Perform Hydrology & Hydraulics (H & H) analysis.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
• Conduct quality assurance and quality control checks to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in civil engineering.
Requirements/Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license for the State of Louisiana required or the ability to become one quickly.
• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, GIS, ArcGIS, and other relevant engineering software tools.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and construction techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.
• Experience with project management software is a plus.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainable design principles is desirable.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to work in various environments, including construction sites, and perform site inspections as needed.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally.
