Accountant

Belle Chasse, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant who will be pivotal in maintaining accurate financial records, conducting detailed analysis, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. There is a goal for the role to grow into a management position overseeing payroll and other accounting staff.

Essential Duties:

• Analyze Accounting on Order Level: Review and analyze accounting transactions at the order level to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Month-End Analysis and Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports for management review at month-end.

• Weekly Bank and Cash Flow Reporting: Monitor and report on cash flow activities, including weekly bank reconciliations and cash flow projections.

• Control of General Ledger (GL): Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

• Contribute to Bi-Yearly Field Exam and Year-End Audits: Assist in the preparation of schedules and documentation for external audits and field examinations.

• Verify Sales and Use Tax: Ensure timely and accurate filing of sales and use tax returns, including verification of tax calculations and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements/Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a corporate environment.

• Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders.

• A team player who can collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments.

• Proactive and takes the initiative to identify and resolve accounting issues.

• Proficient in Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) is essential.

• Patience and resilience to handle challenges and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.

• Eagerness to learn and grow within a developing finance department.

• Experience with SAP B1, Paycor, and Avalara or similar accounting software/tools is considered a strong plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
