Industrial Electrician

Rayne, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an Industrial Electrician who will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems in industrial environments, including manufacturing facilities, refineries, and chemical plants. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with high-voltage equipment, PLC programming, and three-phase power systems.

What You Will Do:

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, including 480V three-phase power and 50 HP motors.

• Diagnose and repair industrial electrical components, including PLCs (Siemens and Allen Bradley preferred).

• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.

• Follow OSHA safety regulations and apply lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.

• Assist in system upgrades and energy-efficient improvements.

• Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and system updates.

Requirements/Skills:

• Experience: Minimum of 10 years as an industrial electrician with experience working with high-voltage equipment.

• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of 480V three-phase power systems, 50 HP motors, and PLC programming (Siemens or Allen Bradley preferred).

• Certifications: Valid TWIC card (required for plant and refinery work).

• License: Valid driver’s license (DL) required.

• Schedule: Standard work hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, with some travel required (50%).

• Shift Availability: Day shift required.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and electrical components, typically up to 50 pounds.

• Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.

• Standing for extended periods in various work environments.

• Precise hand movements for manipulating wires and tools.

• Working in tight spaces and cramped areas within machinery.

• Ability to distinguish colors for color-coded wiring.

• Working directly with high voltage electricity poses a significant risk of electrical shock, necessitating strict safety procedures and proper PPE. 

• Common work locations include manufacturing facilities, refineries, and chemical plants.
