Senior Civil Engineer

Overview:

Baton Rouge, LA – Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer to manage and execute municipal wastewater and potable water projects. This role involves overseeing project planning, design, permitting, and construction management while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with clients. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in wastewater treatment, pumping, transmission, and collection, as well as underground utility design and hydraulic modeling.

Essential Duties:

• Lead the planning, design, and execution of municipal water and wastewater projects.

• Develop detailed engineering plans, specifications, and bid packages.

• Review shop drawings and oversee projects through construction close-out.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff.

• Coordinate with clients to ensure project success and identify new opportunities.

• Perform hydraulic modeling and design water distribution and wastewater collection systems.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and permitting processes.

• Limited travel for client meetings and site visits.

Requirements/Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Louisiana or ability to obtain licensure.

• 8+ years of experience in municipal water and wastewater projects.

• Proven ability to manage projects from start to finish.

• Strong understanding of closed pipe network hydraulics and water/wastewater systems.

• Experience with utility relocation design.

• Some experience with CADD is a plus.

• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to work in an office setting with occasional site visits.
