Piping Designer

Overview:
Location: Lafayette, LA
Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Piping Designer to join our team. This is a full-time, office-based position with occasional site visits required.

Essential Duties:

• Interpret and apply design guidelines and criteria to create systems designs.

• Adapt to client drafting standards and specifications for assigned projects.

• Ensure constructability, operability, and maintainability within project designs.

• Provide efficient, cost-effective technical input for project designs.

• Prepare detailed design drawings based on engineering requirements and deliverables.

• Offer guidance to drafters on assigned projects.

• Collaborate with the Lead Designer to ensure smooth, accurate, and timely project deliverables.

• Maintain a comprehensive Job Data Book for all pertinent design phase information.

• Regularly review drawings for completeness, quality, and adherence to standards.

• Perform checks and backchecks on all drawings for assigned projects.

• Prepare and oversee the preparation of final drawing plots and transmittals for deliverables.

• Maintain awareness of project schedules and budgets.

• Assist with project audits when required.
  

Requirements/Skills:

• High School Diploma or GED.

• 5+ years of professional experience in piping design.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Self-motivated, creative, organized, and solution-oriented.

• Attention to detail.

• Authorization to work in the U.S. for any employer.
  

Preferred Experience:

• Associate’s degree in CAD, Design, or Drafting.

• Experience with CADWorx and/or Plant 3D.
  

Physical Requirements:

• Office environment with sedentary work.

• Occasional travel for site visits.
