Birmingham, AL: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking mid-level electromechanical Field Service Technician who will service industrial laundry equipment in the Birmingham, AL area.
Essential Duties:
• Diagnose industrial and commercial laundry equipment for mechanical issues by recognizing symptoms like unusual noises, vibrations, or leaks.
• Repair mechanical issues involving tasks like replacing damaged belts, realigning misaligned parts, or greasing bearings.
• Inspect electrical connections, wiring, and components like heating elements, thermostats, and sensors.
• Repair or replace faulty switches, thermostats, or wiring.
Requirements/Skills:
• Proven experience as an industrial laundry technician or a similar role with a focus on industrial machine repair.
• Strong mechanical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
• Familiarity with industrial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and finishing equipment.
• Strong grasp of electronic control systems, including sensors, proprietary software, and electronic control panels
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Proficient in reading equipment manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
• Physical stamina and dexterity to handle heavy equipment and perform repairs.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to pass background check requirements including MVR check and professional reference checks.
Physical Requirements:
• Requires ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at waist.
• Must be able to climb a minimum 30-foot ladder
• Maximum unassisted lift = 50 lbs. Average lift less than 20 lbs.
• Exposed to seasonal weather based on geographic region
• Exposed to moving parts and electricity that require safety protocols
• Exposure to varied travel conditions
