JOB SUMMARY
This role will perform a variety of machining practices involved in turning, milling, drilling, threading operations, etc. on rotating equipment components (pumps, turbines, compressors, and more) and assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications and quality requirements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Ability and willingness to be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting.
Ability and willingness to work around and use large propane / acetylene.
Ability to operate small lifts, pallet jacks and other lifting equipment (training will be provided on our specific equipment, but basic skills are required beforehand).
Advanced oral and written communication.
Ability to perform mechanical disassembly and re-assembly of various compressor components associated with reciprocating compressors such as piston assemblies, cylinders and compressor running gear while using hand tools, torque wrenches and hydraulic equipment.
Advanced math skills to calculate tolerances and dimensions.
Must be able to read and understand Blueprints and G-Code.
Must be familiar with basic machining practices involved in turning, milling, drilling, threading operations.
Must be competent reading drawings and following instructions necessary to produce usable and saleable parts.
Must be able to hold tolerances as dictated by drawings, written instructions, or industry standards.
Must be proficient with the use of, the care of, and the calibration of all types of measuring devices (i.e., micrometers (OD and ID), dial calipers, dial indicators, etc.).
Must possess and provide basic tools required for the execution of the position of manual machinist.
Must be able to comply with all safety directives and programs established by the Company and or our customers.
Education:
High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution.
Knowledge and/or Skill Requirements:
OMEGA experience
Proficient in running horizontal lathes, milling machines, VTL, and Bullard.
Capable of reading drawings and proper use of calibrated measuring tools.
Can hold tolerances of .0005".
Basic machining knowledge and practices required.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be required to stand and walk for significant portions of the shift.
Ability and willingness to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs., walk, climb, reach, kneel, crawl, and balance.
Must be able to use hands for assembly and tool.
Previous Experience:
10 years or more of Manual Machinist experience required.
