Commercial Project Manager

Overview:

Baton Rouge, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Project Manager to join our client’s team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management and successful execution of assigned commercial construction projects. The Commercial Project Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of their clients.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Successfully manage and oversee the execution of assigned commercial construction projects.

  • Ensure that all contracted work is executed in accordance with contract documents and Company policies.

  • Collaborate with project Superintendent to manage project budget, schedule, safety, quality control, and customer satisfaction.

  • Manage all subcontractors and suppliers on each project.

  • Direct and coordinate with the Superintendent to ensure accurate completion of project scope.

  • Develop project-specific budgets and schedules.

  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, inspection reports, etc.

  • Negotiate and track change orders with both owners and subcontractors.

  • Utilize strong knowledge of construction methods to drive project success.

  • Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

  • Meet sensitive timelines and deadlines.

  • Possess a valid Driver’s License, good driving history, and dependable transportation to visit project sites.

  • Travel to job sites within the state.

Requirements/Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a commercial construction Project Manager.

  • Experience in developing project-specific budgets and schedules. Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, inspection reports, etc.

  • Significant knowledge of construction methods.

  • Ability to manage subcontractors and vendors.

  • Negotiation and change order tracking experience.

  • Strong knowledge of Office Suite programs, especially Excel and Projects.

  • Knowledge of Primavera Scheduling.

  • Able to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to think and react quickly under pressure.

  • Valid Driver’s License, good driving history, and dependable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing commercial construction in an industrial/petrochemical environment, multifamily, and/or tilt concrete construction.

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.

  • Ability to deal with unforeseen challenges and a variety of personality types.

  • High level of customer service.

Physical Requirements:

  • Mobility:

    • Ability to move freely around construction sites, including navigating uneven terrain and climbing stairs.

    • Capability to travel to various job sites within the state, as required.

  • Lifting and Carrying:

    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of equipment or materials occasionally.

  • Manual Dexterity:

    • Proficient use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.

    • Operation of office equipment and construction-related tools.

  • Visual Acuity:

    • Clear vision, with or without correction, to interpret blueprints, specifications, and inspection reports.

    • Ability to identify and assess safety hazards on construction sites.

  • Hearing:

    • Ability to hear and communicate effectively in a construction environment, including noisy areas.

  • Communication:

    • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members, subcontractors, and clients.

  • Sitting/Standing:

    • Ability to sit for extended periods during office work and stand or walk for extended periods on construction sites.

  • Driving:

    • Possession of a valid Driver’s License and a good driving history.

    • Ability to operate a vehicle to travel to project sites.

  • Safety Compliance:

    • Adherence to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure personal and team safety on construction sites.

  • Work Hours:

    • Ability to work flexible hours as required, including occasional evenings and weekends.
