Assembly Tech (1st Shift)

We are seeking an Assembly Tech for an established company in the Coopersville, MI area who will construct, assemble, or rebuild machines such as conveyors, lifts, chain transfers, upenders, and related specialty equipment.

Schedule: Monday thru Thursday, 5am to 3pm, and Friday 5am to 11:30am

 

Job Duties of the Assembly Tech:

  • Read and interpret assembly blueprints or specifications manuals and plan assembly or building operations

  • Inspect, operate, and test completed products to verify functioning, machine capabilities, or conformance to customer specifications

  • Position or align components for assembly, manually or using hoists

  • Set and verify part clearances

  • Verify conformance of parts to stock lists or blueprints, using measuring instruments

  • Fasten or install fixtures or wiring and electrical components to form assemblies or subassemblies, using hand tools or welding equipment

  • Lay out and drill, ream, tap, or cut parts for assembly

  • Rework, repair, or replace damaged parts or assemblies

  • Assemble drive train systems of gears by aligning and meshing gears, sprockets and pulleys

  • Maintain and lubricate parts or components as needed

  • Work with and assemble mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic devices and equipment

  • Work with 480/3 phase, 110vac single phase, and 24vdc power for drive

  • Align parts or workpieces to ensure proper assembly

  • Apply lubricants or coolants to workpieces as needed

  • Assemble electromechanical or hydraulic systems

  • Drill holes in parts, equipment, or materials

  • Inspect installed components or assemblies

  • Lay out parts to prepare for assembly

  • Measure dimensions of completed jobs to verify conformance to specifications

  • Operate grinding equipment

  • Repair parts or assemblies

  • Replace worn equipment components

  • Review blueprints to determine required operational methods or sequences

  • Set equipment guides, stops, spacers, or other fixtures as required

 

Skills and Qualifications of the Assembly Tech:

  • 3 years of experience in Assembly.

  • Experience with basic hand tools.

  • Must know how to read blueprints.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
