Job Responsibilities:
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting the packaging production team. This position is a semi-working supervisor position and will be expected to lead by example and actively participate in all phases of production, while overseeing and coordinating up to 12 other team members.
Job Duties:
• Maintain a safe work environment and enforce all safety policies and procedures
• Enforce all quality control standards and participate in implementing corrective actions when necessary
• Meet or exceed daily/weekly/monthly production goals according to master schedule
• Review established production schedules to ensure established inventory levels are met while operating at the highest efficiency possible
• Identify process improvements and facilitate a culture of continuous improvement
• Monitor and train employees in safe material handling
• Train shift team members on all aspects of the production process
• Maintain proper use of machinery, equipment, and shop supplies
• Verify correct raw material and packaging components are used and all work instructions are followed
• Evaluate shift employee performance
• Hold production team responsible for proper housekeeping, cleanliness and organization.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Five or more years of production experience and 2 of more years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Basic algebraic math skills are required.
• Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
