Machine Operator

We are hiring for a Machine Operator on the Southside of Jacksonville.

Shift: 7am to 7:30pm on a 2/2/3 schedule.

Pay: $17

The Assistant Operator helps the Operator with the running, loading, and unloading of the machine. This position helps ensure the machines runs at the target speed for each product code and proper quality is maintained. Machine issues must be communicated to the Operator, Team Leader, and Maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform shift change with the outgoing operator making sure all tools are on the tool boards.

• Assist with setting up and operation of the machine, and all other positions on the line.

• Ensure quality of logs being produced by the machine by completing hourly quality checks.

• Keep the area clean and organized.

• Loading and unloading material and product into the machine.

• Inspect finished product to ensure quality standards are met.

• Trouble shoot any machine or quality issues to keep the Machine running efficiently.

• Communicate and document any issues or defects with the Operator, and Team Leader.

• Responsible to know, understand, comply and be actively engaged with the safety procedures, safety policies, and internal regulations and controls.

• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Previous manufacturing experience required.

• Ability to work safely and address safety issues.

• Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal.

• Ability to follow detailed instructions or procedures.

• Exercise and make sound decisions as required to perform the job.

• Ability to troubleshoot machine and quality issues.

• Ability to work as a team and to work independently without a high level of supervision.

• Able to work in a dusty non-climate controlled environment.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry a short distance if required.

***Steel Toe shoes required.
