Lab Technician in Lindsay, Ca

Position Summary

The Lab Technician supports the laboratory and quality teams by performing routine and specialised testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. The role helps ensure that Vita-Pakt’s products meet internal specifications, customer requirements and regulatory standards. The Lab Technician maintains lab equipment, records data, and assists with investigations and continuous improvement of lab operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, label, and analyse laboratory samples (raw materials, in-process and finished products) according to established protocols.

• Perform routine chemical, physical and (if applicable) microbiological tests to verify product attributes (e.g., solids, moisture, pulp content, oil content, acidity, etc.).

• Record data, compile test results, prepare graphs/charts, and report findings to the supervisor or quality team.

• Maintain, calibrate, clean and sanitise laboratory equipment and ensure proper functioning.

• Keep the laboratory workspace organised, clean, and compliant with safety protocols, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and plant safety rules.

• Monitor and manage inventory of laboratory supplies, reagents and consumables; order replacements as needed.

• Assist with investigations of non-conforming results: help collect data, document conditions, support root-cause analysis and corrective action.

• Support the implementation and maintenance of laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs), including updating documentation when processes change.

• Ensure proper sample storage, chain of custody, and timely disposal of waste according to plant/hazardous material protocols.

• Work closely with production, quality, and technical teams to ensure sample flow, data integrity and timely communication of results.

• Participate in training and cross-training (e.g., for shifts, alternate lab locations) as needed.

• May assist in special projects such as new product validation, method development or continuous improvement of lab processes.
