Our client, a leader in the integration of AI and robotics within the food industry, is actively seeking an Automation and Robotics Field Service Engineer. This innovative company leverages advanced AI and robotics technologies to revolutionize food manufacturing, backed by significant investments and contracts within the food sector.
The Role
The Automation and Robotics Field Service Engineer plays a pivotal role in enhancing food manufacturing processes through the deployment and maintenance of state-of-the-art robotic systems. This position involves direct engagement with client operations, ensuring the seamless integration, optimal performance, and maintenance of robotic technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- - Execute inspection, maintenance, and repair tasks for robotics in the field.
- - Troubleshoot, debug, and repair medium complexity issues on-site.
- - Perform preventative maintenance schedules.
- - Lead robot installations at client sites and provide comprehensive training on operation and maintenance.
- - Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, training, installations, and maintenance activities, aligning with quality standards.
- - Identify, communicate, and document product issues, feedback, and potential improvements.
- - Manage on-site schedules in collaboration with clients and coordinate with vendors and other technicians as necessary.
- - Escalate complex issues to appropriate resources for resolution.
- - Assist in refining maintenance procedures and tools, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
- - Deliver exceptional customer service during site visits, fostering positive relationships.
Requirements:
- - Availability to be at customer sites within the Bay Area 50% of the time, with occasional travel outside the Bay Area.
- - Willingness to undergo a 1-month initial training at the company's headquarters in San Francisco.
- - Must have reliable transportation for travel to customer locations.
- - Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 lbs.
- - Flexibility to work variable schedules, including weekends, nights, and on-call hours.
- - At least 3 years of field experience with robotics, IoT, or similar hardware/software industries, highlighting a strong foundation in manufacturing automation.
- - Proficiency in IT/networking setup, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical/mechanical systems.
- - Preferred qualifications include a BA or BS in Engineering, familiarity with Python, Linux, and Spanish language skills.
