Registered Dietitian I

Dean’s Professional Services is now hiring a qualified Registered Dietitian I to work in a State Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.

The Registered Dietitian I is responsible for providing basic nutrition assessments and care planning for patients and residents. Implements business practices to uphold Company mission and values. Contributes to account revenue and operating profit contribution through the implementation of services.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assess clients’ nutritional and health needs
• Counsel clients on nutrition issues and healthy eating habits
• Develop meal and nutrition plans, taking clients’ preferences and budgets into account
• Evaluate and monitor the effects of nutrition plans and practices and make changes as needed
• Promote healthy lifestyles by speaking to groups about diet, nutrition, and the relationship between good eating habits and preventing or managing specific diseases
• Create educational materials about healthy food choices and lifestyle
• Keep up with or contribute to the latest food and nutritional science research
• Document clients’ progress

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma – Required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition by an accredited or approved education program. – Required 
• 1 year of experience practicing as a Registered Dietitian. Required. 
• Registered Dietitian by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
• Maintains dietetic registration and continuing education hours as specified by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and state licensure regulations where applicable.
• Current license by Texas State Board of Examiners of Dietitians preferred.
• Registered Dietician with Pediatric experience required and experience calculating TPN required. Pedi GI experience is a plus.
• BLS is required.
• Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
  

Job Details:

• Schedule: M-F 8:00 am – 4:00 pm 
• Starting at $22/hr. (based on experience) + benefits.
• Full benefits – healthcare, dental, vision, 401k program.
