Job Summary:

A local electrical company is seeking a full-time, competent, and skilled Electrical Foreman. This role involves overseeing electrical installation, maintenance, and repair activities on construction projects. The Electrical Foreman ensures projects are completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards. Managing a team of electricians and coordinating with other trade foremen, this position requires strategic planning, decision-making, and effective execution of construction schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Supervision:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of Journeymen and Apprentices on the job site.
  • Assign tasks and monitor progress to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work is being performed safely and to standards.
  • Train Journeymen and Apprentices with daily project tasks.

Project Management:

  • Collaborate with the General Foreman and other trade foremen to develop project plans and schedules.
  • Ensure the availability of materials, tools, and equipment necessary for electrical work.
  • Monitor project timelines and budget, making adjustments as necessary to meet project goals.
  • Oversee project progress from start to end, ensuring all tasks are completed on schedule.

Technical Expertise:

  • Review and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including wiring, conduit, fixtures, and control systems.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and national codes and regulations.
  • Responsible for strategic planning, troubleshooting, and execution of construction schedules.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Promote and enforce a culture of safety on the job site.
  • Conduct safety meetings and ensure all team members follow safety protocols.
  • Identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures to prevent accidents.

Communication:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for electrical issues on the job site.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, subcontractors, vendors, and office personnel.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports to the General Foreman and Project Manager.
  • Ensure effective communication on project progress, compliance, and document management, including RFIs, Change Orders, Submittals, and more.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certification preferred.
  • California Certified Electrician.
  • Advanced knowledge with schools, public works, large commercial, and industrial projects.
  • Construction management college degree (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years in the electrical construction industry.
  • 3+ professional references.
  • Pre-employment drug screening.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and on different types of terrain.
  • Capable of lifting heavy materials and equipment.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.

Compensation:

  • Foreman - State Prevailing Wage.

  • Full-time: Monday through Friday (alternate work schedule as needed).
