Position Title: Electrical Journeyman
Location: Humboldt County

Job Summary:
A local electrical company is seeking a full-time, competent, and skilled Electrical Journeyman. This role involves performing electrical installation, maintenance, and repair tasks on construction projects. The Electrical Journeyman will work under the direction of the Foreman and is responsible for ensuring that all electrical work is completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install electrical panels, conduit, and wiring systems.
  • Bend and install conduit as required for wiring systems.

  • Pull and label wire for various electrical systems.

  • Install and maintain lighting systems and underground wiring.

  • Perform other wiring disciplines as needed for the project.

    • Inspect and test components of electrical systems, including transformers, transfer switches, and switch gears.

    • Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and national codes and regulations.

    • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in a timely manner.

    • Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.

    • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.

    • Identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures to prevent accidents.

    • Work closely with the Foreman and other team members to complete projects.

    • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors about project progress and any issues encountered.

    • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certification preferred.

  • California Certified Electrician.

  • Knowledge of school work, public works, large commercial, and industrial projects.

  • Minimum of 5 years in the electrical construction industry.

  • 3+ professional references.

  • Pre-employment drug screening.


  • Skills and Abilities:

    • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and components.

    • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

    • Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.

    • Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and on different types of terrain.

  • Capable of lifting heavy materials and equipment.

  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.


Compensation:

  • Journeyman - State Prevailing Wage.

Hours:

  • Full-time: Monday through Friday (alternate work schedule as needed)
