Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Extraction Technician to join our client’s night shift. Specializing in ethanol and butane hash oil (BHO) extraction. This role involves operating extraction equipment, handling solvents safely, and ensuring the production of high-quality flower concentrates. The ideal candidate has experience in hydrocarbon and ethanol extraction, a strong understanding of lab safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain ethanol and BHO extraction equipment to produce high-quality flower concentrates.
Handle, store, and dispose of solvents safely in compliance with regulatory standards.
Monitor and adjust extraction parameters, including pressure, temperature, and solvent recovery.
Perform winterization, filtration, and post-processing techniques such as purging, distillation, and refinement.
Maintain strict cleanliness and sanitation protocols for lab equipment and workspaces.
Conduct quality control checks to ensure product purity, potency, and consistency.
Accurately weigh, label, and track product batches while maintaining compliance with state regulations.
Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on extraction equipment as needed.
Follow all safety protocols, including proper ventilation, PPE use, and emergency procedures.
Maintain detailed logs and records of extraction processes, equipment performance, and product yields.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience in ethanol and/or BHO extraction in a licensed flower facility.
Knowledge of hydrocarbon extraction techniques, post-processing, and refinement methods.
Strong understanding of laboratory safety, handling of volatile solvents, and regulatory compliance.
Ability to operate closed-loop extraction systems and solvent recovery units.
Familiarity with testing methods such as potency, terpene profiles, and residual solvent analysis.
Detail-oriented with excellent record-keeping and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs).
Passion for flower and a commitment to producing high-quality concentrates.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree or certification in chemistry, biology, or a related field.
Prior experience in a laboratory or pharmaceutical production setting.
Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and compliance protocols.
Due to industry requirements, candidates must be 21 years or older.
